Visiting Naturalist in the Schools - Victor
The Visiting Naturalist in the Schools program for 4th and 5th grade classrooms brings a naturalist into the classroom every month of the school year with 2 full day field trips to a local natural area. Professional naturalists lead engaging, hands-on activities that meet standards in science education.
This was a day-long field trip to Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge river trail area where the students took wildlife hikes with binoculars and explored local flora and fauna. There are three different stations to participate in: Adaptation Olympics, a Professor Hike (“each one, teach one”), and a Wildlife Hike.
