About me: I live south of Missoula, Montana on the west side of the Bitterroot valley. Many of my photos are taken here in western Montana, but also around the world. I love being outdoors. I hike, bike, fish, hunt, ski and ALWAYS take photos.
I use a Canon 7D and 5D Mark III (with a few lenses and tripods) and shoot in RAW. I process my photos into JPG with Adobe Lightroom with as few adjustments as possible.
Stevensville 4th Grade at Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge, May 2012
Visiting Naturalist in the Schools - Stevensville
The Visiting Naturalist in the Schools program for 4th and 5th grade classrooms brings a naturalist into the classroom every month of the school year with 2 full day field trips to a local natural area. Professional naturalists lead engaging, hands-on activities that meet standards in science education.
This was a day-long field trip to Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge river trail area where the students took wildlife hikes with binoculars and explored local flora and fauna. There are three different stations they participate in: Solo Hike where they learn about a feature of nature or plant and and then teach about it, an insect hike, and a wildlife hike.
