About me: I live south of Missoula, Montana on the west side of the Bitterroot valley. Many of my photos are taken here in western Montana, but also around the world. I love being outdoors. I hike, bike, fish, hunt, ski and ALWAYS take photos.
I use a Canon 7D and 5D Mark III (with a few lenses and tripods) and shoot in RAW. I process my photos into JPG with Adobe Lightroom with as few adjustments as possible.
Clivia miniata
Clivia miniata is native of southern Africa. It grows wild there, but in my northern climate, I grow this plant in a pot. I can put in on my shady porch in the spring, summer and fall and bring it in the house in the winter. It has roots (actually rhizomes) and blooms best if pot-bound. Keep soil on the dry side and avoid full sun. Other than that, it is easy to grow. It blooms in early spring, but will also bloom in the summer if conditions are right. The green strap-shaped leaves stay all year-round.
