Osprey, family of four at Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge
This nest is near the road and pond at the refuge just north of Stevensville, Montana USA. On this day when I arrived, one osprey was in the nest and spent much of her time opening her wings a just enough to shade the chicks. The other osprey was fishing. When he came back with a fish, he ate a little of it while sitting on a nearby snag. Then he took the fish to the nest where the other osprey fed it to the chicks.
